The Municipal Services Committee for Bronx Community Board 10 voted in favor of co-naming the crossing of Caroll Street and City Island Avenue on City Island Wednesday, to honor the late Lieutenant Robert DiMartini, one of the NYPD’s most honored officers.

DiMartini, who passed on June 12, retired from the police force in 1989 with 475 awards, including the the International Association of Chiefs of Police Police Officer of the Year in 1978, according to their website.
